My name is Marvin. While someone who knows might say “He’s an engineer by profession”, I’d like to add that I’m also a tech geek by passion. I’ve loved gaming for most of my life, and I pride myself on being a PC enthusiast who still loves to keep up with new ideas and technology.
One of my favorite things in life is being able to combine my passions and interests with the ability to offer a unique perspective and professional history. That history includes everything from my blog about web development and other techie topics, to being able to troubleshoot and assemble just about any PC on the plant.
Fifth Geek is more than one of my favorite accomplishments as an engineer constantly in pursuit of knowledge. It is where I provide not only news on the latest developments and concepts in technology, but also my personal insights into these subjects.
Working with this blog gives me the chance to research and study anything that is tech-related. While I am a bit biased towards the ASUS brand (proud owner of an ASUS ROG laptop by the way), I like to keep my experience as broad as possible. This lets me feed my passion for trying the latest gadgets, apps, games, technologies, and anything else that grabs my interest. The blog is a reflection of all of this.
While this blog is indeed important to me, it is not my only work by any means. I love helping people deal with a wide assortment of tech issues. This is another way I am able to keep up with the latest in technology. When I can, I love to discuss recent projects on the blog.
Admittedly, I can be a bit lazy, but that has everything to do with my dislike of repetitive tasks – This is where programming comes into play. One of my biggest goals as a wanna be programmer is to help make automation more prevalent in different aspects of our lives. It’s just one of the things that motivates me to create, research, and imagine how I can make the world a better place.
When I’m not working, or updating the blog, I love to play games like Ragnarok Mobile and Plants vs. Zombies 2. If you were to ask me to list some of my favorite things to geek out over, I’d have to say pretty much anything Marvel or Star Wars related.
Tony Stark has always been a personal favorite and hero of mine. His innovation, determination, and brilliance are just one of the things that drives my own inventiveness and creativity.
I’m also quite an avid toy collector, which includes action figures (especially Marvel and Star Wars!) Lego, Gundam kits and toys, just about anything related to RC, and even drones.
Technology is all around us. I love seeing that reflected more and more in our media, which I suspect explains why I love the things that fascinate me.
Home cooking is something else I love. Watching videos in Tasty can be a great way to unwind!
